The Paradox

The Paradox

After the rain, the city smells metallic.

Cold concrete darkens beneath scattered light. Rust bleeds quietly along abandoned steel. Somewhere between the cracks, a crimson rose opens without permission.

No garden.
No tenderness.
Still alive.

Its beauty feels almost intrusive—as if softness itself had learned how to survive the machine.

Vetiver settles low against the skin like wet pavement after a storm. The rose rises slowly through it: dark, elegant, slightly feral. Then comes the metallic edge—clean as a blade beneath velvet petals.

Not every flower was meant for sunlight.


 
The Olfactory Allegory

Notes : Damascus Rose / Vetiver / Metallic Accord

Damascus rose unfolds with deep crimson richness—lush, thorned, almost excessive against the cold restraint beneath it. Vetiver grounds the fragrance in mineral earth and rain-soaked concrete, while a metallic accord moves quietly through the composition like oxidized steel cooling after heat.

Elegance adapted to ruin.

Burning time: around 40 hours

Size: height 7 cm ; diameter 8 cm

Fragrance gradually released and persistent (optimal after around 20 minutes).

There is no limit on the size of the space as long as you keep an eye on the candle.
Candle Care

• The First Burn: Allow the wax to melt completely across the surface to the edges of the vessel on your first burn (approximately 2–3 hours) to prevent tunneling.

• Trim the Wick: Always trim the cotton wick to 5mm before every lighting. This ensures a clean, steady burn and minimizes black smoke.

• Time Limit: Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Allow the vessel to cool down completely before relighting.

• Safety First: Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep out of reach of children, pets, and flammable materials. Place on a stable, heat-resistant surface.

• The End of the Ritual: Discontinue use when only 5mm of wax remains at the bottom. The artisanal concrete vessel can be repurposed as a timeless object.
